most people don’t know what they want or feel. And for everyone, myself included, it’s very difficult to say what you mean when what you mean is painful. The most difficult thing in the world is to reveal yourself, to express what you have to… As an artist, I feel that we must try many things - but above all, we must dare to fail. You must have the courage to be bad - to be willing to risk everything to really express it all.

It is way, way too early in the semester for me to be feeling remotely like this.

We are but fettered by chains of our own forging, and which ourselves also can rend asunder. - Carlyle

I have a feeling my planner is going to be my best friend this semester.

Come away with me

Let us walk the stars together

wander amidst the milky way

slip over the moon

Come away with me

Hold my hand

Let us slip away past the stars

Let us slip away to dreamland

I feel disgruntled, dissatisfied and generally disenchanted. I’m slowly losing my grasp to a cynical ugly world and I hate it.

You have played,
(I think)
And broke the toys you were fondest of,
And are a little tired now;
Tired of things that break, and—
Just tired.
So am I.

Fall Pep Rally

Summer is coming to an end. With the memory of the seemingly never ending saga of shitty weather that was last winter still fresh in my mind, I must admit that typing that first sentence leaves me slightly nauseous. I’m not ready to give up fresh fruit and shorts!! I’m not willing to budget more time for travel due to inclement weather!

HOWEVER.

Fall has always been my favorite season, so even though I’m still a little gun shy towards colder weather, there is still much I’m looking forward to.

Sweaters:

image

The bigger and softer the better, I say.

Boots:

Paired with chunky socks and big sweater = fall/winter uniform.

Tea. Copious amounts of tea.

The above is approximately one day’s worth. For some reason in the summer I’m a coffee girl, but in the colder months, I just can’t get enough of my delicious tea. I’m smiling already.

Stealing The Boy’s hoodies:

Yes they’re uber comfy, but they really are the best because they smell like him.

Down comforters:

I love the snuggly feeling of burrowing under the covers and feeling like I’m in a heavenly cocoon.

Fall color:

Cliche but true.

Cuddling:

Hey it’s cold outside. Perfect time to make use of your AWESOME DOWN COMFORTER!

French:

This is actually more of a love/hate category, but speaking french in University sounds very chic. Plus I have a beret in my closet somewhere. Win.

Being inside during inclement weather:

When you have nowhere to go, being inside during a storm is the best feeling ever. Have some tea! Cuddle! Build a fort using your SUPER AWESOME DOWN COMFORTER!

So there is an incomplete list of things that I love about this upcoming season.

A poem falls short; I’d like, instead
to draw a single line from me to you
and watch it curl into a word
so beautiful it’s still unsaid –
or press paper to the window pane
so that the day might saturate
a note that brightly warms your hands,
spills birdsong from imagined trees
and buzzes like fat bumblebees,
but I am bound by language, love; I can’t.
